UHFMagazine - 2008-01 - January 2008: communication and crises

Yes, the UHF tries to use humour to deflect criticism: but when I added the "human" side to UHFMagazine, I said to myself- it is a "what if" situation.

What if hamsters and other pets, like in the movie "cat and dogs", are really our guardians? They have been longer than us around (probably), and we assume that we, humans, the longer we stick around, the more "evolved" we become- as individuals, and as society.

Let's put aside doubts about our capability as a society to evolve (I witness everyday side-effects of our reptilian brain).

But then, watching reality through the eyes of somebody non-human is interesting. It is almost like being Spock in Star Trek- a perfect logical (well, almost- he is half-human...) that cannot understand why we mourn people close to us and ignore the others.

So, I started with human eating habits, and moved to conflict resolution, common resource management, and so on.

In this issue, as it was supposed to be delivered in early January, I had focused on our habit of praising freedom of speech- when agrees with our ideas, and when it does not interfere with what we want to do.

A perfect subject to be discussed by hamsters :D
